Statutes of our cooperative

• Title: Speak.it

• Purpose: Free courses of Catalan and Spanish for foreigners.

• Duration: 2016-2017

• Address and territorial scope: Manresa, Spain

• People working partners: Míriam, Laura, Laia, Mar and Karen.

• Requirements for admission: they have to have an interest in languages, be hard-working and be able to work in front of the public.

• Obligations of the partners: they cannot abandon the project unless it is an unanimous decision and each partner has to pay the amount of money that have been assigned.

• The rights of members: they have the right to intervene in the decisions of the cooperative  and to vote various proposals .

• Responsibilities of social partners on the debt: the debt is divided between the partners.

• What rights should have the members: Members have the right to vote, to receive information, get a profit and to propose new ideas.

• How unsubscribe a partner: we organize a meeting where all members are present and the member who has decided to leave the cooperative must say why he/she is leaving.

• Foul committed by a member: an example would be; not appearing at a meeting, committing a lack of respect to a partner, not generating any idea in the group, etc. If you do these fouls, you will lose your right to vote. If these fouls are repeated frequently  you could be unsubscribe of the cooperative.

• Total economic contribution: Each member of the cooperative contributes 5€ (25€ total), and if we have money left, we will divide it between us ( the members).

• Duties of the members: Laia organizes the work of the group, Laura provides key ideas, Karen edits the blog, Mar is the responsible of the direction and Míriam advertises the cooperative.

• In what case we would dissolve our cooperative: If the partners faces with each other (so that no member would continue this cooperative) and if we don't have money.

• Which partners are we and what position we occupied: Mar manages the daily problems, Karen directs the capital, Míriam resolves the penalties, Laia manages the company and Laura organizes assemblies.

Social bodies of our cooperative

• General Assembly: it consists of all members of our cooperative: Laura, Míriam, Laia, Karen and Mar. All are entitled to vote and to take any decision there must be unanimity.

•  Rector council: the governing body is composed of two members of the cooperative who are responsible for bringing the administration. These two members are Míriam and Laia.

• Auditor: responsible for directing the capital of the cooperative. Laura is the responsible.

• Resources Committee: Karen is responsible for this type of function, which is to defend our cooperative.

• Address: involves managing the daily problems of the cooperative. Mar is the responsible.

Our profiles

Our cooperative is formed by Laia Villarta, Míriam Almazán, Laura Cárdenas, Mar Peñarroja and Karen Cazorla. 
Now, we are going to present you ourselves. We hope you like it!😉

Cooperative principles of our cooperative

• Economic participation of the members: Our cooperative is formed for 5 members. All of them contribute with a small capital (about 50 cents each one) to invest on the material, e.g. photocopies.

• Education, formation and information: Although you are a member of the cooperative, you must keep studying and working hard. In our case, we are learning new language techniques.  

• Interests in the community: Our cooperative is trying to influence in other persons knowledge.

Why our cooperative is called Speak.it?

“Speak.it” is a compound word in English that means “parla-ho” in our language. We have chosen this name for our cooperative because our students will only be able to learn how to speak a foreign language. They will we able to choose Spanish, Catalan or both.

What kind of cooperative are we?

We are a cooperative of education. With us you will learn how to talk in Spanish and Catalan in a very funny way! We will teach you how to speak and pronounce properly. And you will love it!
We have chosen a cooperative of education because we, the members, want to teach our language to a foreign community in a free way. We think it is very important for the new generations to learn foreign languages. Because of this, we have created this cooperative. We want our students to be able to speak Catalan or Spanish.

This is the catalan speaking area.

Our method of learning is fun and very effective.  
We use flash cards to facilitate the learning of the main concepts. 

For example, we show you a card with a shape and you learn how to say this type of shape in our language.
In a few days you will be able to speak a little bit of Catalan or Spanish. We will teach you how to introduce yourself to other people, how to pronounce properly and you will be able to say the main expressions.
